It was the first time she’d expressed the emotion in at least a month. Justin clenched the bag in his hand. “I’m ready.” “As am I. Father must be worried sick. I hope he is well.” Now she was back to worrying, and sorrow tinged her voice. Continued happiness seemed to be too much to hope for. He wrapped his arm in hers. “Let’s look at our journey as an adventure, a mystery.” She rolled her eyes. He needed to give her a focus. “I don’t know how many islands are off the coast of Spain, but what if we pretend we are searching for a lost island—one that has never been found.”
